Why did I start iSimplify? Before our son was born, my husband and I decided that I would be a full-time mama. I imagine that many of you visiting this site have made the same decision – hence your small business endeavors! As many stay-at-home mothers do, I discovered that not only would the additional income be extremely helpful, but also that I need some mental exercise before my brain atrophies!
With my office management and technical background, it became only too obvious what I should do! And thus, iSimplify Virtual Assistance was born. Seven years later, iSimplify is a thriving Virtual Assistance and Web Development company. Along the way, we have assisted both small business owners and mid-sized companies with numerous administrative duties ranging from simple expense reporting to screening potential employees. We even offer full website development services.
What makes me unique as a Virtual Assistant? Well as many of my clients like to say, “Missy has mad technical skills!” I’ve always dabbled with computers (I was given my first Windows PC when I was 12 – I even installed my own CD drive hardware! 
). Since then, I’ve learned my way around all sorts of programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher. Additionally, I’ve picked up skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. It was only natural 10 years ago that I start learning how to code (it was HTML back then!). I’ve since expanded my programming skills to include PHP and I’m a big fan of customizing WordPress as a Content Management System for my clients. I also consider myself highly capable of integrating all sorts of up-and-coming or established web tools such as email marketing (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Aweber, etc.), social networking (Ning, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.), shopping cart systems (1shoppingcart, 1Automationwiz, Foxycart, E-junkie, etc.), and many, many others.

I’m Anna – at-home mom of one and virtual assistant. For the past six years my husband and I have been on-the-go. We were both working jobs that seemed to fulfill us, but left us stressed, tired, and without time for each other. Our lives were living us. About two years ago, we stopped and asked each other, “How can we simplify it?” With the desire to add a little addition to our home, we sought at-home work for me and a job that would bring him home in the evening and on weekends.
How did Missy and I meet? A few years back a mutual friend knew I was on the cusp of job changes and asked Missy to share her successes as a VA. About ten minutes into our dinner conversation we realized we were kindred spirits. As she described her passions for iSimplify, I felt inspired and rejuvenated in my own efforts.
Since that fateful night with Missy, I have been working virtually. What I love most about being a virtual assistant is that by working with a variety of clients, I can promote all the skills I have acquired throughout my journey. With my background in English and writing I have been able to research, write, and edit custom work for clients. For others I have planned events and fundraisers, promoted businesses, set meetings and calendars, led trainings and presentations. For the past two years I have also managed multiple data systems – all from home. There is never a dull moment in my office! In January 2011, we welcomed our first little one into our life. The career changes I made have been well worth it.
Why did Missy and I join forces? Fast-forward to a growing virtual community of entrepreneurs and iSimplify’s excellent reputation—expansion was in order. The partnership was a no-brainer. Missy’s brilliant technical and development skills coupled with my extensive background in customer service and project management will provide a quality service to small business owners and mid-sized companies that is unbeatable.
My passion, not matter the job, has always been to treat others well and provide excellent service, while accomplishing the tasks at hand. Joining the iSimplify team was the obvious step in my journey as a VA. I want to see men and women succeed on their journey toward growing a business, enjoy their personal lives, and feel the freedom to do both.
